About Us
Jonathon Paff is the Director and Managing Solicitor of North Coast Criminal Law. Jonathon has experience in the most serious criminal matters dealt with in our courts. From murder charges, to complex sexual assault trials and appeals, Jonathon’s background means we know how to achieve the best outcome for you.
Jonathon was born and raised in Taree, on the NSW Mid-North Coast. Jonathon was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 2015 and commenced work in a well established Taree law firm gaining experience in a wide range of legal areas.
In 2018, Jonathon commenced work as a criminal solicitor at the Coffs Harbour office of Legal Aid NSW. This allowed Jonathon to gain significant experience appearing for clients in bail applications, sentences and hearings in the Local Court. Jonathon then moved into a role specialising in serious criminal matters such as sexual assaults, kidnappings and dangerous driving causing death.
In 2021, Jonathon commenced a role with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, where he was responsible for prosecuting the most serious crimes in courts across Northern NSW. This experience assists Jonathon to provide honest and accurate advice about the entire criminal process and what will genuinely help you to achieve the best possible outcome.
In 2022, Jonathon returned to the Coffs Harbour office of Legal Aid NSW as the Manager of the Local Court team. During this time, Jonathon was responsible for managing a team of 6 lawyers providing Legal Aid NSW services in all courts between Macksville and Grafton. He also continued to appear in numerous District Court sentences, trials and appeals as well as various complex Local Court hearings and sentences. In 2024, Jonathon appeared before a New South Wales Parliamentary Inquiry into drug reform to give expert evidence on behalf of Legal Aid NSW.
In 2025, Jonathon established North Coast Criminal Law. Jonathon’s goal is to provide straightforward, honest and affordable legal advice to all people charged with criminal offences on the North Coast.
